Every named doctor is checked in the federal NPI registry. Verification needs one active ophthalmology record in the same state.
Scored on disclosure
Half the score is Google reputation weighted by review count. The other half rewards published prices, verified surgeons and named technology.

Each record shows the procedures performed, per-eye prices, surgeons verified against the federal NPI registry, laser technology and Google reputation, with the date it was verified.
How much does LASIK cost?
LASIK costs $1,000 to $8,400 per eye at the 172 practices in The LASIK Index that publish a price, with a median starting price of $2,495. The other 667 practices quote a price only at a consultation.
How are LASIK practices ranked?
Practices are ranked by the Index score, a 10-point score. Half comes from Google reputation weighted by review count. The other half rewards transparency: a published per-eye price, named and NPI-verified surgeons, procedures beyond LASIK and named laser technology. No practice can pay to change its score or rank.
